• Kosi Bay is a place where fishermen can revere their surroundings and catch. Kingfish, Queenfish, Stumpnose, Shad, Grunter, Mullet and Garrick are just a fraction of what is available from the waters of this region.
• While Kosi Bay has such wonders as the two armed Mudskipper fish and the one-armed Fiddler crab, nearby Ndumo Game Reserve sports rather larger wonders of the animal kingdom - Rhino, Giraffe, Warthog, Zebra, Kudu, Nyala and Impala as well as over 400 bird species.
• Other day tours include Black Rock, Lala Neck and Bhanga Nek - home to Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife's 30 year old Turtle research facility - all within easy reach (4x4 vehicles are recommended).
• Self drive guests require a permit to enter the Coastal Forest Reserve when journeying to the Mouth, Black Rock and, to Tembe Elephant Park (by road). Permits are available from the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife's Tourist office which is just 2kms away. The road is tarred until the last 3 kms, the most of which is graded sand. The turn off to the lodge is a well used sand track which is accessible by normal saloon car. Lake Makhawulani's tidal ebb and flow brings fish into the estuary on every high tide.

Facilities
The accommodation is rustic more than plush but the setting and range of activities make a stay well worthwhile.
Full board or self catering options are available. All chalets have fully equipped kitchens with private braai with access to boma areas. Accent is on comfort, informal service and attention. Guests are encouraged to explore this unique environment by friendly staff who are on hand to assist with information and arranging outings.
Facilities: 40 seater restaurant, ladies bar, conference room with incredible views, a large sundeck and swimming pool. Two, four and six bedded (sharing) rustic lodges and chalets are comfortably appointed. Structures consist of thatched roofs, treated poles, wooden floors on stilts. Full or self catered options are available. Accent is on comfort, informal service and attention. TVs and tea and coffee making facilities are available in the fully catered units.
