About the venue
We welcome you to Kruger Cottage, a charming thatch-roofed house in Marloth Park, a buffer zone nestled up to the south edge of the Kruger National Park, South Africa’s premier game reserve. Marloth Park is a tranquil, fence-less community that allows game animals to run free amongst the houses.

Located in Mpumalanga Province, Marloth Park is bordered by Kruger on three sides, separated only by the Crocodile River and the Kruger boundary fence. It is considered a nature conservancy (no domestic animals allowed) and operates its own private game reserve for guests to enjoy. A short walk (approximately 120m) brings you to an extensive walking path situated next to the Kruger boundary fence, allowing an elevated view of all the wildlife that gathers at the river.

The Kruger Park is easily accessed after an easy drive of approximately 35 km. If you are looking for variety, Marloth Park is a great base from which to explore Mpumalanga and neighbouring countries, Swaziland and Mozambique.

Marloth Park is located between Hectorspruit and Komatipoort. Drive time from Johannesburg Airport is approximately 4-5 hours. Shuttle service is available from Johannesburg and Pretoria to Nelspruit.

Client Reviews
(Helena, Montana USA)
It was lovely! So peaceful and quiet. The house was extremely comfortable (I slept like a log) and the open plan accommodated our family reunion very well. Easy for everyone to be together while we created wonderful meals! We saw a variety of wildlife, including zebras that came right up to us while we were at the fire pit! We also saw warthog, the resident bushbabies, and incredible bird life! The house is just a hop skip from the trails adjacent to the Crocodile River, another excellent wildlife-watching location. Bring your binoculars and your camera!!! If you are looking to get away from it all, I highly recommend this location. You really get a taste of Africa's incredible wildlife, up close... hard to beat.
