Noordhoek - Cape Peninsula, Western Cape

Noordhoek is located on the Cape Peninsula and can be reached via the wonderful Chapman's Peak Drive or by the scenic Oukaapse Weg. The people of Noordhoek are very much in touch with nature and their houses blend into the splendid natural surroundings and Fynbos gardens. Most people will know Noordhoek for Long Beach which stretches for over 8 kilometres all the way to Kommetjie. The beach is one of the longest and widest in the whole of the Cape and is perfect for taking a long walk - its size means that it is never over crowded.

When the wind blows from the west or the north-west then the sea becomes a spectacular sight and at "The Hook" end of the beach you will see plenty of surfers riding the many waves that arrive in quick succession. For the non-surfers out there you can try horseback riding along the beach or alternatively just relax and enjoy the sun and sand. Whether you are a beginner or an expert horses can be rented from a number of places including the "sleepy hollow" stable. The whole setting for Noordhoek is set against a backdrop of lush green mountain slopes with Fynbos growing densely along the coast.
