Event ID: 12 - Wacky Wine Weekend, Western Cape

Wacky Wine Weekend 2012

Cape Winelands Accommodation

Wacky Wine Weekend – come along to South Africa’s biggest regional wine festival and enjoy the wine and lifestyle festival that takes place in the beautiful Robertson Wine Valley.

Lots of wineries participate in the festival with things for everyone to do. As well as the obvious wine-tasting opportunities there are game drives, golf, music, fishing, quad-biking, boat crusies and lots to eat. For food lovers there is everything from burgers to fine dining experiences. From oysters and champagne to whole BBQ salmon you will not go hungry while you are here. This is a great opportunity to meet with some of the winemakers and find out some of the secrets to their success. For the young ones there are bouncy castles, puppet shows, games and pony rides to name just a few things to keep them amused.

Join thousands of wine lovers for the annual pilgrimege to South Africa's BIGGEST regional wine festival.  Activities take place at the individual wineries and include:  * wine tasting * food pairings * live music * adventure * outdoor * family-friendly * arts * sport.  [Voted MOST UNPRETENTIOUS WINE FESTIVAL 2006 - www.wine.co.za.]

All visitors need to purchase a passport (R80) at their first port of call. This includes a stylish tasting glass, WWW goodie bag, festival program and a bottle of water.

Designated Drivers need register at the cost of R80. This will include a booklet of coupons for FREE coffee, breakfast, etc and can be redeemed over the course of the Wacky Wine Weekend.

How does the passport work?
The passport entitles you to free tasting (25ml-samples) of our wines for the duration of the festival. However, it is not a ticket to unlimited drinking and should you like more of a particular wine, you’re welcome to either buy a glass, or share a bottle amongst friends.

Other activities offered work on a pay-as-you-go basis with some activities free of charge. For the latest news on the Event Programme check our wackywineweekend.com
