Plato Lodge is situated 50km west from Augrabies Waterfalls Natural Park.  It is ideal for the visitor who wants to explore the waterfalls at Augrabies, Richtersveld, West Coast, Namaqwaland flower season and Namibia.

Plato Lodge as such, when arrive, give the visitor already the feeling of Namaqwaland and South Namibia.  The longest Plato in Africa on the Namibian side give you an unbelievable view from Plato Lodge.  From there the name Plato Lodge.  The Orange River form the Namibian border and is 8km from Plato Lodge.

Plato Lodge is 110km from Pofadder and 90km from the Onseepkans border post.  More of Plato Lodge, the area is a semi-dessert with broke Bushmanland and Richtersveld area with a beautiful Orange River front and sanddunes.  The quietness, safety and remoteness of the area give you the feeling of rest and peace.  Wild life in the 9000ha farm ride in the farm of Eland, Kudu, Oryx, Springboks, Steenbok and Klipspringer.  In this area the Leopard is still in the wild an 65 000ha which include Plato Lodge the Leopard is preserve.  Bird life include the Black Eagle, Fish Eagle, Peacock, Namaqwaland, Dubbelband patrys ect.  The Fauna is rich in semi dessert species like the Quivertree, Shephard tree, black Ebany, Camel tree ect.

Activities on Plato Lodge include, sandduning with skate boards, fly and normal fishing very good, game drives, hiking trails and mountain bike trails (consist of a 5km, 10km, 14km, 20km and a 26km route) 4x4 route, stargazing, photographing, picnics at riverfront, full moon walking experience.  Canoeing.

Accommodation consist of 5 double bed rooms with dubble showers and balcony.  Rooms overlook the mountains to the river and up again to the point where the Plato form the background (unbelievable view).  Breakfast is include and dinner and lunch on request.  Bar facilities in main lodge and also minibars in the rooms.  There can be twin beds in the rooms also.  On request the guests could braai themselves.  The lodge use Solar power and go green as far as possible.  Plato Lodge is ideal for the guests who is brain tired and want to come from the rush of the modern world.
