Enjoy peace, tranquillity, warm hospitality and personal service at Acacia House Rivonia. We’re situated within a boomed security area in an up market leafy suburb, with easy access to some of Joburg’s best restaurants and malls. All five of the stylishly decorated bedrooms are en-suite and have extra length beds with fine linen. DSTV, WiFi, stocked mini bar fridges, 36inch LCD flat screen TV’s and tea and coffee making facilities are standard in all of the rooms.

One of the rooms has a wood burning fireplace. There is also a self catering suite available. Breakfast is served on the sunny patio or dining room over looking the sparkling pool set in a lush garden with an abundance of bird life. Candle lit dinners with antique silver cutlery and crystal glasses can be organized upon request by your host Sally who is a professionel chef. 


This suite is upstairs & comprises of a sunny bed room with a queen size extra length sleigh bed. A separate cozy sitting room with a large flat screen TV and DVD player. There is a small kitchenette with a 2 plate stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, utensils, pots & pans and fridge. The bathroom has a bath and shower, wash basin and toilet.


Both these suites are up stairs and have extra length queen size beds, tea, & coffee making facilities, mini bar fridges, & large flat screen TV’s. The bathrooms are en suite and have full length baths and shower cubicles, a wash basin and toilet.


This suite is upstairs and has an extra length king size bed. The bedroom & living area is sumptuous and includes a leather couch & coffee table & large flat screen TV. It has a kitchen with a two plate stove, breakfast bar, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, utensils, pots, & pans. The bathroom is large and has double sinks, a very roomy shower and a two person bath plus a toilet.


Both these suites are down stairs and have their own private entrance and double doors opening out on to the veranda and garden. Suite 5 has an open wood burning fire place perfect for a spot of romance on Joburg’s cold winter nights! The beds are extra length king size and both have sitting areas and coffee tables with large flat screen TV’s. The kitchens are fully stocked and have an oven and 4 plate stove, fridge, microwave, kettle and breakfast table. The bathrooms have double sinks, two person baths and large shower cubicles plus a toilet.


A full English breakfast is served between 06h30 and 09h00 on weekdays on the patio or in the dining room. On weekends and public holidays breakfast is served between 7h30 and 09h30. Continental breakfasts can be delivered to your room on request.

Rivonia is a suburb of Johannesburg in the Sandton area. Rivonia is one of the most affluent residential and business suburbs of Johannesburg, and regarded as the hub of start up IT comIt was in Rivonia at the location of Liliesleaf Farm where the accused in the 1964 Rivonia Trial were arrested. The Rivonia Trial was an infamous trial which took place, in South Africa between 1963 and 1964, in which 10 leaders of the African National Congress were tried for 221 acts of sabotage designed to “ferment violent revolution”. Liliesleaf Farm had been used as a hideout of the African National Congress. Among others, Nelson Mandela had moved onto the farm in October 1961 and evaded security police while masquerading as a gardener and cook.

The main road in the area, known as The Boulevard, is the location of the Rivonia Square shopping complex as well as many other shops and restaurants. This beautiful Square boasts a chain of shops, nightclubs and restaurants along the thoroughfare and includes the former Cloisters Shopping Centre. This square is always a buzz of entertainment and energy.

Rivonia is home to the famous Browns Restaurant. Formerly a rambling old farmhouse, Browns is a Johannesburg landmark. This spectacular restaurant boasts one of the finest wine cellars in the country as well as offering total tranquillity in its private gardens. The large, though intimate, dining area spills out onto an airy patio that is opened up or closed in depending on the weather. In addition, Browns is possibly the first South African restaurant to introduce a French Cheese room boasting over 30 varieties of international cheeses. This restaurant is not to be missed and will definitely add a unique dimension to your dining experience.


The country club Johannesburg is one of Africa’s finest golfing facilities, with two championship courses on a large piece of ground in the plush northern suburbs. The Woodmead  Course opened in 1968 and Woodlands in 1992 and both are splendid 18 hole layouts.
