Montagu is known for its many hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and mountain climbing routes.  It's possible to join (at no cost) the Montagu Mountain Meander hikers for their (almost) daily hike of 1,5 to 2,5 hours.  There is also a tennis club and golf course that welcomes visitors, an art-cinema, several art galleries, museums, and a "historical walk" that leads you to places of historical significance around the town, and trout fishing at a nearby trout farm.  Montagu is part of the local/regional wine route comprising over 50 wine estates (many offering free wine tasting).  And Montagu boasts 2 breweries (offering a range of beers) too.  It's also possible to visit and buy locally produced goods from several olive farms, a lavender farm, farm stalls, dried fruit suppliers, etc.  Nearby Viljoensdrift wine estate offers a lovely boat cruise (with optional picnic), and the Guano Caves outside Montagu offer swimming facilities and a petting zoo.  The Montagu Hot Springs offer several hot & cold pools, mini golf, water slides and braai spots plus restaurants and bars.  And one of the most popular tourist attractions is a tractor ride to the top of our mountain range, followed by an optional breakfast. In nearby Robertson there is river rafting,  an olympic size swimming pool plus additional hiking/biking trails.  The Montagu Tourist Office is a mere 100m from The Annexe so info on what to do & where is easily available.
