Situated along the picturesque garden route of the Western Cape, Sedgefield has become a favourable residential destination among locals and tourists alike due to its coastal ambiance. The town was established in 1929 and gains its namesake from a village of the same name, located in the United Kingdom. The town’s relaxed, rustic setting is reflected in its motto which is “the tortoise sets the pace”.

The town is located along the N2 highway which connects the two cities of Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and is often referred to as the Garden Route. The Garden route is a mix of golf courses, retirement estates, scenic mountain ranges and beautiful coastlines. These features make this famous stretch a highly popular residential area as it offers a range of amenities and activities, within a tranquil seaside backdrop.

Cola Beach is a true Sedgefield gem. It is one of the town's five beaches and is the perfect spot for residents and holiday-goers alike. Experience tranquillity and breath taking views or soak up some sun in this picturesque setting. Cola Beach is perfect for surfing and rock fishing.

Set in the upmarket and sought after suburb of Cola Beach in Sedgefield and located in an elevated position in the secure complex called Milkwood Ridge, it overlooks the sea and Cola Beach bird sanctuary.

This stunning unit consists of light and sunny, beautifully finished and furnished open plan lounge and dining room to kitchen with sand coloured granite tops and a beautifully designed splashback. There is storage space under the stairs which lead to the top floor boasting three spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with the main being en suite. Both levels offer beautiful views from the decks to the sea and horizon.

There is a double garage on ground level as well as additional visitors parking. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity that is Sedgefield and let the ever changing sea views set the mood.

The unit consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The lounge and dining room open up onto a large entertainment deck – the main bedroom upstairs opens up to a large stoep. From an elevated point both decks overlook the Indian ocean.

The spacious main bedroom comes with an en suite bath/shower room.

A second bathroom is located between the second and third bedrooms.

Sedgefield’s is renowned as being the Garden Route’s Slow Town, the emblem of which is a giant mosaic tortoise.  The Slow Town Festival which takes place in April every year is a marvellous way to engage in the Sedgefield community. The events and activities range from art exhibitions, a beauty pageant, mosaic workshops, Mitchell’s beer tastings, a golf challenge, a chess tournament and even Victorian picnic accompanied by the sounds of a local Marimba-playing band.

Gerickes Point is one of the Garden Routes most precious beaches. There is a view point overlooking the ocean and if you are there at the right time of year (around September/October), it is the perfect place to view southern right whales.

Other activities and highlights of the town is a Classic Car collection. It is a must-see when travelling to or through Sedgefield. Situated on the Main Road/N2, it hosts a alarge range of classic cars from different periods in motor history.

Book for your own guided walks (The Giant Kingfisher Trail) among indigenous coastal shrubbery and get a map of the Slow Town Tourist Route which will highlight the main touristic points of the town; a great activity you can do by foot.

The Swartvlei Rivermouth is a hit with locals. Boogie board with the in-coming tide into the Swartvlei Lagoon. Children will tirelessly run up the shore and be carried down again with the in-coming tide.

An exciting and significant landmark in the heart of the Garden Route, the multiple award-winning Wild Oats Community Farmer's Market is located on the outskirts of the tiny coastal town of Sedgefield.
